Certified Collectors

Unlike most competitors in the healthcare consulting arena, Health Business Solutions prides itself on providing lasting results.  This means that we not only help you resolve your denied claims inventory, but we train your staff to maintain an effective and efficient denied claims management program.

We have developed a proprietary certification and training program that is specifically designed to ensure that our staff possess and maintain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of successful collectors.

We bring this program to your facility so that you can be certain that while Health Business Solutions is on site, and, more importantly, when we have transitioned services back to your business office, only the most qualified staff performs denied claims management and recovery activities.

Why Certification?

Certification is a mark of professional competency. Certified individuals possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform denial recovery services.

How was the program developed?

HBS partnered with a nationally recognized certification and testing experts to conduct a psychometrically valid, legally defensible Denied Recovery Specialist Role Delineation Study (RDS).

What is an RDS?

An RDS is a detailed and complex process that systematically identifies the scope of service for a given profession. HBS convened current experts and practitioners in the field of health care and medical billing to identify the performance domains and job tasks common to Denial Recovery Specialists, regardless of facility. This work was validated by practitioners across the country, resulting in a valid measure of professional competency.

What are the certification standards?

HBS Certified Denial Recovery Specialists have demonstrated their competency and commitment to continued learning by completing:
  • Minimum on-the-job experience
  • Specified education and training
  • The Denial Recovery Specialist Written Exam
